    2017 Caroline Clapham Masters Award Announcement

     

    The IELTS Research Committee, comprising representatives of the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and Cambridge Assessment English, is pleased to announce the awarding of the 2017 Caroline Clapham IELTS Masters Award to Martin Stark, who completed his degree at Lancaster University. His dissertation, which looked at the automated analysis of linguistic features on a writing task, was supervised by Tineke Brunfaut.

    The award, which carries a prize of £1000 and sponsored attendance at the annual Language Testing Research Colloquium (LTRC), aims to encourage young researchers to pursue careers in language testing. Counted among former winners are professors and lecturers, researchers in examination bodies and other organisations, and a director of a teacher training institute.     New milestones confirm IELTS as the world’s leading test of English for international migration and higher education


    The number of organisations accepting IELTS (International English Language Testing System) results has reached 10,000, cementing the test’s position as the world’s leading English language test for education and global migration purposes.

      

    Global recognition is one of the reasons why the number of people taking IELTS continues to grow, with 2.9 million tests taken in 2016.

     

    The growth in recognising organisations – which include universities, schools, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies – is an indication of how these bodies trust and value IELTS results as a secure, valid and reliable indication of a test taker’s English language proficiency.

     

    James Shipton, Head of IELTS at the British Council, said: “The world-leading expertise of the three IELTS partners delivers ever-higher standards in test development and delivery, to ensure that IELTS continues to meet the needs of our customers worldwide.”

    کمپین جدید آیلتسقصد دارد تا جهانیان را به گفتگو طلب نماید

    این هفته، آیلتس معتبرترین آزمون انگلیسی جهان کمپین جدیدی را راه اندازی کرد تا مکالمات بشری را به ما یادآوری کند.

    این کمپین که از طریق شبکه های اجتماعی در 9 کشور برگزار می شود ، براساس الهام گرفتن از داستان های سه شرکت کننده آزمون آیلتس در هنگام رسیدن به اهداف زندگی، تحصیل، شغل و مهاجرت خود نهادینه شده است.

     

     

    آیلتس در پی در محاصره قرار گرفتن جهان و تمام محدودیت های فاصله فیزیکی این کمپین را توسعه داد.

    واریک فری لند، مدیر عامل آیلتس در آموزش برنامه توسعه فردی ( IDP Education ) گفت: "امسال بیش از هر زمان دیگر، قدرت ویژه مکالمات انسانی به ما یادآوری شده است".

    وقتی ما نمی توانیم به گرد هم آییم، مکالماتی را به اشتراک می گذاریم تا بتوان بیشتر با خانواده ها، مشاغل و مطالعات خود در ارتباط باشیم.

     

    "آیلتس آزمونی است که حول محور اطمینان مردم است و اعتماد به نفس آنها را در یادگیری زبان انگلیسی بالا می برد و این کار آنها را قادر می سازد  تا مکالمات مورد نیاز خود را انجام دهند".

    آیلتس ، آزمونی که بیش از 10 هزار سازمان در سراسر جهان به آن اعتماد دارند، معیار جهانی ارزیابی مهارت انگلیسی افراد است.

     

    آقای فری لند گفت: یکی از جنبه های اصلی آزمون آیلتس به عنوان یکی از آزمونهای رسمی زبان انگلیسی تمرکز آن بر روی مکالمات انسانی است، نه مکالمه با کامپیوتر، همانند برخی از آزمون های استاندارد انگلیسی سطح پائین که در بازار عرضه شده اند.

     

    "ما از این موضوع آگاه هستیم که هوش مصنوعی در حال پیشرفت است، اما هنوز در جایگاهی قرار نگرفته است که بتواند  مکالمه انسان به انسان را به روشی که بتوان به آن اعتماد کرد، تقلید کند".

     

    " می دانیم افرادی هستند که سعی دارند به تست های استاندارد سطح پائین تر، کوتاه تر کامپیوتری اعتماد کنند، ولی متاسفانه با این کار خود را برای شکست در این مسیر آماده می کنند".

     

    " هنگامی که اهداف تغییر زندگی مانند دستیابی به شغل رویایی شما یا جابه جایی در سطح بین المللی در پیش است، مشتریان ما می دانند که شما نمی توانید راه های کوتاه مدت را موفقیت در این مسیر انتخاب کنید".

     

    راه اندازی این کمپین در حالی آغاز شده است که مراکز آزمون آیلتس در سراسر جهان بازگشایی شده اند.

    با اقدامات احتیاطی مضاعف برای فراهم کردن یک تجربه ایمن در روز آزمون ، آیلتس  دربیش از 130 کشور دنیا هم بصورت کتبی و هم بصورت آزمون IELTS کامپیوتری را ارائه می دهد.
