Why is this the case? What can be done about this problem?   During the past century, we were witness of a significant improvement in the agriculture sector. Modernizing the ways of planting, processing and harvesting, using new fertilizers and pesticides have greatly contributed to increasing the quantity and quality of the agricultural products. However, these technologies have not reached everyone equally. There is still huge number of people in the world who cannot afford to meet their basic nutritional needs.
