Writing test
Writing task 1 (a report)
We were given a line graph showing the weather conditions in Glasgow, Scotland from January to December, including the maximum and minimum temperatures in degrees Celsius.
Writing task 2 (an essay)
Some people say that popular TV entertainment programs should aim to educate viewers about some social issues. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Speaking test
Part 1 (Interview)
– What is your full name?– Can I see your ID?– Where are you from?– Do you work or study?– What do you do?– How do you manage your time?– Do you find it difficult to manage time?
Part 2 (Cue Card)
Talk about a new language that you learnt. Please say
– when you did it– how you did it– who helped you with it– and explain how you feel about it now.
Part 3 (Discussion)
– What are the benefits of learning a new language?– How can you learn a new language easily?– Can children learn it faster than adults?– What do you think is the reason?

IELTS test in the UK – January 2012 (Academic module)
The following questions were asked on an IELTS speaking and writing test held in the UK in January 2012.
IELTS Writing Topic
Writing task 1 (a report)
The task 1 was to write a report. Test takers were asked to write a report based on a bar chart showing information about sports men and women in a European country between 1985 and 2005. The sports items were basketball, rugby, tennis and badminton.
Writing task 2 (an essay)
Some people believe that having university education is essential to be successful in life, while others think that it is not important. Discuss both views and give your own opinion based on personal knowledge and experience.
IELTS Speaking Topic
Tell me something about your house.
What do you like about your house?
Do you enjoy reading books?
What kind of books do you read?
Do you like to give books as a gift to your friends? If so, why?

IELTS Writing task 1 (a report)
We had a bar chart describing the numbers of male and female students, studying different subjects in one university in 2012. There were with six subjects on the chart (Science, Human Science, Technology, Engineering, Health, Agriculture) and the numbers of students were shown in millions.
